Animal Care Attendant

We are looking to add to our team of dedicated animal lovers who value patient care, team work and compassion. We are looking for a team member who is hard working, responsible, and willing to learn. Any previous animal care experience in the following areas is an asset but not mandatory, as we are willing to train the right person.
This position requires skills in the handling and restraint of cats and dogs for veterinary procedures including x-rays and ultrasounds, blood, urine and fecal sample collection, physical exams, IV catheter placement, as well as assisting with surgical preparation/induction/ recovery and monitoring of vital signs. (Requires lifting of at least 30 lbs).
Availability: Must be willing to work Saturdays. Some weekday shifts.
Basic computer skills:
Updating electronic medical records for patients in hospital to track their progress while they are with us.
Cleaning
Cleaning/disinfection of pet cages/runs, bowls, litterboxes and bedding, as well as other work areas, and rooms, floors and equipment in the building.
Sterilization of surgical instruments.
Inventory: Unpacking our daily supplies/food order (requires lifting and carrying at least 30 lbs) and restocking our work areas.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 27 per week
