Development Engineering Co-op (4 months)

The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury is looking for a highly motivated and independent individual to assist Development Engineering division beginning at the end of April 2026. Reporting to the Manager of Development Engineering, the successful applicant will be responsible for providing assistance to technical and support staff.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Participate in technical review of plans, studies and reports related to development applications.
  • Perform field inspections as required.
  • Review sewer lateral videos for deficiencies. Make recommendations for approval of the inspection and coordinate with technical staff a response to the customer.
  • Review lot-grading plans using electronic review software.
  • Records management and filing. Create records and log them using TOMRMS.

Competencies & Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled in a post-secondary Civil Engineering Technology program (or equivalent)
  • Experience with AutoCAD and GIS software is considered an asset.
  • Possess excellent customer service, interpersonal, project/time management, analytical, and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to promote a culture of inclusiveness and work with a diverse population of employees, participants, agencies, and the public.
  • Must have a valid class "G" Ontario driver's license in good standing.
  • Own or willing to purchase safety footwear as a pre-condition of employment.
  • Able to submit a successful Criminal Record & Judicial Matters Check as a pre-condition of employment.

The hourly rate for this position is $ rates) per hour.
