Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia Full time

The Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia (CPABC) is one of Canada's most influential professional regulatory bodies, entrusted with safeguarding the public interest and advancing one of the country's largest and most trusted designations. As the governing, regulatory, and training authority for more than 40,000 CPA members and 6,000 candidates across British Columbia, CPABC plays a central role in ensuring the vitality, integrity, and future-readiness of the accounting profession. Collaborating nationally on key matters affecting the profession, while serving as British Columbia's regulatory authority for professional accountants, CPABC is a pillar of the province's economic framework - upholding rigorous professional standards, informing public policy, and preparing CPAs and future CPAs to support sustainable economies and communities. Guided by its mandate under the CPA Act and anchored by strategic pillars, CPABC is a highly respected voice in business, finance, and public administration, province-wide.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and serving as a member of the executive leadership team, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will provide strategic, operational, and visionary oversight across the organization's financial, people and culture, and external affairs and communications functions. This role ensures the financial integrity and sustainability of the organization while ensuring that people and culture practices and internal and external communication and engagement uphold the very highest of standard of trust that CPABC enjoys today. The CFO will provide strategic advice to the CEO, Board, and senior leaders on efficient business operations, financial stewardship, and risk management and will play a pivotal role in aligning resources with organizational priorities, helping to position the organization well for the future. The CFO oversees approximately 40 staff and includes two Vice Presidents and a Director, each overseeing mature and high-performing departments.

As the ideal candidate, you bring a CPA designation and a successful track record of financial leadership in a senior role where your line of sight and impact have been organization-wide, and where you held functional oversight broader than finance alone. As an integral member of a leadership team, you will have built strong business partner relationships, both internally and externally, as well as proven your ability to provide strong direction and mentorship to accounting and other teams.

The incoming leader will inherit a strong institutional foundation and a compelling mandate to advance CPABC's public-interest mission while empowering CPAs and future CPAs to contribute meaningfully to the province's economic and social prosperity.

Personally, you are a high-energy, quality-focused, forward-thinking, service-oriented leader. If you care deeply about the profession and flourish in a highly engaged and positive corporate culture, it's hard to imagine a better position in this market than being the CFO of CPABC.

The starting salary range for this position is between $206,850.00 and $245,600.00 per annum, based on candidate qualifications, experience, and internal parity. Exceptions may be considered with further review.
