The Role – Specialist Sales, Café Solutions
OfficeMax isn't the first business that comes to mind when you think about coffee, but we are Aotearoa's largest coffee supplier, and we represent an extensive range of café solutions and coffee brands to meet all businesses needs and wants.

In this role you will report to the National Sales Manager, Facilities. Our Café Specialists work with our Account Managers to grow their understanding of how to talk coffee, and they work with customers to develop their café solutions. Bring your expertise, passion, and sales drive to strengthen connection across your territory from Waikato to Wellington. The territory does cover a large geographical area however expected travel away from your home base would be once or twice a month.

We are looking for a sales pro who lives and breathes coffee to develop solution strategies for our customers. Identify the right machine to meet your customers requirements – from vending style machines (soluble machines) to a full barista set up, from Nescafe coffee to Gravity beans – arrange tastings with your customers and share your passion for coffee and solutions

Your Key Responsibilities Are
Excellence in Sales Execution

  • Ensure the delivery of the café category sales, growth, customer satisfaction and retention targets
  • Meet or exceed assigned café financial targets including sales, margin and profitability
  • Work collaboratively with the broader sales team to identify and convert sales and growth opportunities through joint sales strategies
  • Proactively build and maintain sales pipeline, qualify size of opportunities and convert
  • Represent OfficeMax in the field as specialist sales expert, providing café product knowledge, professional and compelling presentations, on-site workspace and equipment planning and communications
  • Manage and co-ordinate OfficeMax's response to requests for Tenders and RFPs
  • Act as technical subject matter expert on all elements of café products, including sustainability expertise and accreditation requirements

Enabling Sales

  • Maintain café specialist product and service expertise through continuously building and broadening product and market knowledge and keeping up to date with new and emerging trends within the café category
  • Share with the wider Sales Team, customer feedback including needs, problems and opportunities in order to optimise the overall OfficeMax customer experience
  • Work closely with Sales Operations teams to develop a collaborative, cohesive and strong sales and operations planning and service-delivery culture
  • Provide the Café team/inbound customer service support and frontline account management with alternative specialist product options should the existing stock item no longer be available
  • In conjunction with Capability Coach – Sales and Customer Support, regularly support and train OfficeMax sales and support teams on café specialist product/ category

What You Will Bring

  • 5+ years Sales, Business Development, Café experience preferable
  • Experience writing proposals / tender preparation or similar
  • Cost / Margin calculations
  • Formal presentations – facilitation and development
  • Commitment to customer satisfaction
  • Commercial acumen
