  • Baccalaureate Degree in a related field of study or equivalent experience. 

  • A minimum of 4 years of recent experience as a member of the health care or support team in a Hospital or clinical setting. 

  • Current Certificate of Registration as a Regulated Health Professional in Ontario preferred

  • Related experience in clinical education or orientation is an asset.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and group skills. 

  • Demonstrated problem identification and resolution skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to initiate and model positive change.

  • A willingness to extend his/her knowledge of clinical information systems, share knowledge with others, and demonstrated superior, self-directed learning skills. 

  • Must possess the ability to view things from a systems perspective.

  • Demonstrated expertise with Microsoft Products, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, and must have the ability and willingness to learn Project, Visio, Captivate and Access and other computer based learning tools as necessary.

  • Excellent knowledge and skills related to the principles of adult learning. 

  • Demonstrated project management skills. 

  • This position is Epic Curriculum Certified in assigned Epic applications

Health Information Technology Services (HITS) is a service based business unit delivering healthcare IT solutions to Hamilton Health Sciences and various healthcare partners.  The HITS team uses technical expertise to offer practical, sustainable and high quality solutions to the Hospital, support HHS in achieving our vision of Best Care for All.

The Clinical Informatics Implementation Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating the Epic and other digital solution education programs. The Clinical Informatics Implementation Specialist functions as the primary owner and contact of the Epic Training Curriculums for their assigned clinical and support Epic applications. Using either their clinical or healthcare operations background, they maintain and deliver caregiver, provider and support training as assigned. This position also is the primary classroom instructor for clinical Epic New Hire Training Classes and Epic Update Training. This role is responsible for the technical set up and oversite of the epic training environments, assessing all upgrades and changes for implications to training programs and materials. The Clinical Informatics Implementation Specialist will assist operational leaders in identifying training opportunities via review of the epic tools supporting user assessments and appropriate utilization. Epic Certification within 4 months of hire is required or proof of active certification with CEE's is required to maintain position.
