This opportunity
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to provide therapeutic recreation assessments and formulate individualized and/or group therapy plans, treatment goals and objectives. You will facilitate the development, maintenance and expression of an appropriate leisure lifestyle to individuals with physical, mental, social and/or emotional impairment or limitations. You will also provide clinical direction to the Therapy Assistants, and provide support to staff and volunteers

Essential qualifications
Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the qualifications below. Selections for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.
- Baccalaureate Degree in therapeutic recreation/recreation therapy
- Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) designation with the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC)
- Membership with the Canadian Therapeutic Recreation Association (CTRA) and/or Provincial Therapeutic Recreation Association
- Experience in clinical recreation assessment and treatment of residents, program development and implementation (in a long-term care setting, is preferred)
- Experience supervising staff or volunteers is an asset

Job requirements
This job requires you to perform, and/or be exposed to, the following:
- Shift work (days, evenings, and weekends);
- Travel within the Territory
- Exposure to plants, flowers, animals, infectious diseases, latex products, and second-hand smoke
