We maintain high standards for property appearance, plant health, safety, and client satisfaction, and we expect leadership roles to actively uphold and enforce those standards.
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly accountable Landscape Maintenance Foreman to oversee maintenance crews and properties. This role is responsible for daily operations, crew performance, quality control, and safety compliance across assigned sites.
This position is suited for a leader who understands that consistency, attention to detail, and proactive problem-solving are critical to long-term client retention and operational success.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate landscape maintenance crews across assigned properties
- Plan daily and weekly maintenance schedules to meet service standards and timelines
- Assign tasks and ensure work is completed efficiently and to company expectations
- Enforce company safety policies, PPE requirements, and safe work procedures
- Conduct and document tailgate meetings, safety meetings, and job hazard assessments
- Complete routine site inspections and quality control checks
- Monitor plant health and site conditions, identifying issues before they escalate
- Coordinate seasonal services including spring cleanups, pruning, fertilization, and fall shutdowns
- Communicate with management regarding site conditions, crew performance, and resource needs
- Address performance issues promptly and professionally
- Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites
- Assist with hands-on maintenance work when required
- Take ownership of overall site quality, safety, and crew accountability
Physical & Safety Expectations
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods
- Ability to perform physical landscape maintenance tasks as required
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs
- Mandatory use of PPE including steel-toe boots, high-visibility apparel, gloves, and eye protection
- Active participation in safety meetings, inspections, and hazard reporting
- Zero tolerance for unsafe work practices or shortcuts
- Full compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations and company safety standards
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years experience in landscape maintenance or related field
- Previous experience in a Foreman or senior leadership role
- Strong understanding of landscape maintenance practices, plant care, and seasonal services
- Proven ability to lead crews and maintain consistent service standards
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable completing written or digital reports, inspections, and safety documentation
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License (required)
Assets/Preferred Certifications
- Occupational First Aid (OFA Level 1 or higher)
- WHMIS certification
- Pesticide Applicator License
- IPM (Integrated Pest Management) training
- Ground Disturbance / Utility Awareness training
- Horticulture education or certification
