Job Description

What is the opportunity?
RBC is looking for Trust Officer or Senior Trust officer who will be responsible for retaining and growing the RBC Royal Trust book of business through the development of client relationships. The Trust Officer will identify client needs and provide appropriate solutions through the sale or referral of RBFG products and services. They will be responsible for the ongoing relationship management of a dedicated book of business dealing effectively with client issues of greater complexity and/or sensitivity, ensuring the delivery of quality client service.

The Trust officer is also responsible for increasing client loyalty while leveraging full RBC Financial Group capabilities to ensure efficient administration of estate and trust business

What will you do?

  • Create exceptional client experience by providing superior service and a complete range of estate and trust solutions that meet client needs/goals.
  • Identify any referral opportunities to appropriate Professionals across the RBC network and other Centres of Influences (COIs) where appropriate
  • Ensure the process for new business take on is efficient and seamless to the client and client's professional advisor (where appropriate).
  • Demonstrate a commitment to taking ownership and accountability for efficient client problem resolution.
  • Responsible for the timely and efficient settlement of estates ensuring a superior client experience
  • Responsible for maintaining the level of communication to various team players to deliver quality seamless client service
  • Responsible for retaining and growing the existing RBC Royal Trust book of business through selling and referring Fiduciary Solutions and Services and RBCFG products and services based on client needs
  • Identifies new business and referral opportunities through existing relationships (e.g. with beneficiaries, executors, principals, and their advisors)
  • work closely with the team to implement and execute against the team's business plan

Must haves

  • Minimum 1-4 years' experience as a Trust Officer providing trust and estate related value added advice to clients
  • Ability to communicate with clients about general investment, estate, financial, trust, taxation issues including economic conditions
  • Demonstrated ability in managing complex personal and family dynamics, the grieving process, and conflicts or situations
  • Technological literacy
  • University Degree; TEP designation or equivalent; Canadian Securities Course
