Operation Manager (Banking Process)
Job Scope:
- Provide oversight of back-office and branch-supported banking operations to ensure consistent, efficient, and compliant execution.
- Govern operational policies and manuals across retail and commercial banking.
- Support oversight of account lifecycle activities, including account opening, maintenance, and closure.
- Support oversight of customer onboarding, verification, CDD, and EDD processes in accordance with AML/ATF requirements.
- Supervise branch operations to ensure consistent application of approved procedures and service standards.
- Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities to streamline processes and enhance operational effectiveness.
- Ensure the completeness, accuracy, and proper maintenance of business and operational documentation to protect the Bank's interests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee end-to-end banking operations to ensure consistent and effective execution across the Bank.
- Ensure operational processes align with enterprise risk frameworks, internal control standards, and service expectations.
- Develop, maintain, and govern operational policies, procedures, and manuals.
- Ensure business and operational documentation comply with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
- Support account opening and account closure processes for retail and commercial customers.
- Ensure KYC, CDD, and EDD requirements are applied consistently and effectively in accordance with AML/ATF regulations.
- Supervise and oversee branch operations to ensure consistent application of approved policies and procedures.
- Maintain effective working relationships with correspondent banks and external partners.
- Provide training and ongoing development to enhance staff banking knowledge and operational capability.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of reports to OSFI and Head Office.
- Perform other duties and support projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- University degree / College diploma in business administration
- 3 – 5 years of related work experiences in a Canadian Banking Institution
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar role
- Strong knowledge in managing credit, operational, and regulatory risk.
- Previous experience in a managerial role (preferably in banking operations) an asset.
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Must have leadership skills to develop and maintain a high level of teamwork, motivation, and commitment.
- Understands banking legislation and regulation.
- Demonstrates experience to lead others.
- Fluency in Mandarin Chinese an asset.
