Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures, as well as excellent interpersonal skills to ensure a positive experience for our patients.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready for use.
- Prepare and maintain the treatment area, including sterilizing instruments and ensuring compliance with infection control protocols.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed by the dentist.
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-operative care.
- Manage patient records accurately using dental software such as Dentrix or Epic.
- Schedule appointments and assist with front office duties when necessary, including answering phones and managing patient inquiries.
- Support pediatric patients with care tailored to their needs, ensuring a comfortable environment.
- Assist in orthodontic procedures as needed, demonstrating knowledge of CAD systems when applicable.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to dentistry is essential.
- Experience in pediatrics, orthodontics, or dental reception is a plus.
- Proficiency in using dental software such as Dentrix or Epic is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Certification in Dental Assisting from an accredited program is preferred but not mandatory.
