Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Snow Plow Operator to efficiently manage snow removal operations during winter months. This role involves operating snow plowing equipment to ensure safe and accessible roads, driveways, and parking areas. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and experience with various tools and machinery related to construction, landscaping, and maintenance. This position offers an essential service to the community and requires attention to safety and detail.

Duties

  • Operate snow plow trucks and related equipment to clear snow from designated areas
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on plow vehicles to ensure optimal functioning
  • Assist with ice management by applying salt or de-icing materials as needed
  • Conduct pre- and post-operation checks to identify any mechanical issues
  • Coordinate with team members to prioritize routes and ensure timely snow removal
  • Maintain safety standards by adhering to all operational guidelines and wearing appropriate protective gear
  • Assist with other landscape maintenance or construction tasks as required, including using hand tools, power tools, or small machinery such as excavators for related projects
  • Support general gardening, irrigation, horticulture, or landscape maintenance activities when not engaged in snow removal

Skills

  • Proven experience operating snow plow equipment and familiarity with mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of landscape maintenance, gardening, horticulture, or construction practices is a plus
  • Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting minor issues on machinery
  • Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols related to equipment operation and outdoor work in winter conditions
  • Physical stamina for extended periods of outdoor work in cold weather conditions
  • Excellent teamwork skills and communication abilities for coordinating with crew members
  • Basic knowledge of irrigation systems or landscape maintenance is advantageous but not required

This position is vital for maintaining safe access during winter storms and supporting ongoing landscape or construction projects when weather permits. The ideal candidate will be dependable, safety-conscious, and ready to handle physically demanding tasks in challenging conditions.
