JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Employment Ontario Programs Manager this full-time, contract position will assist the Manager in providing leadership, mentoring, and supports for all EO programs while still being responsible for seeking out and developing relationships with local employers, identifying their needs and developing strategies to assist them with growth, training, recruitment and business supports. The Job Developer will work closely with our job seekers to match their skills and abilities to employment opportunities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Working in an outcomes-based environment, with set performance targets
- Build strong working relationships, the job developer will perform outreach, cold calls, and network at various events to promote the benefits of Employment Ontario Services at Port Cares
- Assess Employers needs to find the program/service that best benefits them including COJG
- Prepare and facilitate presentations on site, offsite or online for employers, clients, community associations
- Organize and attend job fairs
- Assist with promoting events and services
- Assist employers with various recruitment services including: creating job descriptions, job postings, pre-screening and interviewing
- Negotiate, monitor and administer agreements in accordance with the program guidelines and targets
- Keep up to date on local and regional labour market trends
- Liaise with other employees to discuss marketing ideas and needs
- Work with clients to confirm their career goals and to facilitate job placements
- Responsible for maintaining accurate paper and electronic documentation
- File security and confidentiality
- Coverage of Resource area and reception desk when required
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Completion of Post-Secondary Education or experience in a related field is an asset.
- Leadership skills including delegating, giving feedback, conflict resolution, problem solving, active listening, reliability, creativity and positivity.
- Desire to empower and develop skills and talents of our team members.
- Strong understanding of all Employment Ontario Programs and Services with a focus on performance and outcomes as outlined in our guidelines and contracts.
- Able to give and receive feedback in a positive and professional manner.
- Strong sales background with a focus on customer service and measurable outcomes is an asset.
- Demonstrated excellence and accuracy in file management.
- Strong computer skills with various software applications and internet-based search engines.
- Highly effective interpersonal skills together with strong oral, written communication and presentation skills.
- Superior organizational skills with an ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Working knowledge of the Fedcap Program Guidelines and databases is an asset.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally throughout the Niagara Region is a requirement.
- Niagara Regional Police Clearance Certification required.
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
