The Role

We are currently seeking a skilled Commercial Roofing Foreman to lead one of our field crews. The Foreman is responsible for planning, supervising, and executing daily roofing operations to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to mentor and develop team members while maintaining LAING's strong safety culture and brand reputation on every site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage roofing crews to complete projects safely and efficiently
  • Coordinate daily work plans, materials, deliveries, and site logistics
  • Ensure compliance with project specs, drawings, and safety standards
  • Conduct and document safety meetings, inspections, and hazard assessments
  • Communicate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and clients for updates and reporting
  • Train and mentor apprentices and new workers to build skills and accountability
  • Oversee installation of commercial roofing systems (TPO, EPDM, SBS, BUR)
  • Maintain production logs, photo documentation, and quality control records
  • Model professionalism, safety, and craftsmanship on-site

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 5+ years of commercial roofing experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or foreman capacity
  • Proven ability to manage crew productivity and maintain high-quality standards
  • Strong understanding of project sequencing, material usage, and installation techniques
  • Valid Fall Protection, WHMIS, and First Aid certifications (other safety tickets considered an asset)
  • Knowledge of RCABC standards considered an asset
  • Valid Class 5 driver's licence and reliable transportation
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to teamwork, safety, and continuous improvements

Pay: $43.00-$48.00 per hour

Experience:

  • Leadership/supervisory: 2 years (preferred)
  • commercial roofing: 5 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

  • Red Seal Roofer certification (preferred)
