About the role

The Technician, Sample Management is responsible for sample management general activities: conduct general activities such as sample inventory, service request and disposal or shipment

What you'll do here

  • Good laboratory document.

  • Perform the appropriate Watson LIMS transactions for sample movements.

  • Ensure the correct storage location and condition of samples.

  • Manipulation of Containment Level 2/Cytotoxic Study Material.

  • Generation of Study Material Watson Reports.

  • Conduct all work in compliance with SOPs, GLPs, GCPs and observe all company guidelines and policies.

  • Participate in process improvement.

  • Reception inventory and labelling of study material.

  • Conduct service request and preparation of study material

  • Storage & Service of Reference Standard Material.

  • Conduct sample disposal.

  • Preparation of samples for shipment.

  • Assemble and scan samples for long term storage.

  • Shipment preparations of samples in boxes.

What you'll need to succeed

  • High school degree completed with relevant experience in sample management.

  • DEC or BAC in a relevant field.

  • Minimum of 6 months of relevant experience.

  • Excellent communication skills in French and English.

  • Knowledge of FDA-GLP, GCP and TPD regulations are an asset.

  • Experience in the medical or pharmaceutical field is an asset.

  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills.

  • Attentive to details.

  • Customer-focused.

  • Good communication.

  • Works well within a team.

  • Software: Access, Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint, Watson LIMS.

Altasciences strives to provide a French working environment for its employees in Quebec. Although as part of its francization program has taken all reasonable steps to avoid imposing the above-mentioned requirement. Fluency in English is an essential requirement for the position of Technician, Sample Management including, but not limited to, for the following reasons:

  • The requirement to have study protocols, designs and clinical research documents written and documented in English as required by industry regulatory agencies.

What we offer

  • Full Time position (37,5 hours/week).

  • Week Day Shift (must be available between 8am and 4:30pm).

  • Week Evening Shift (1:30pm to 9:30pm): must be available to work on a weekend day (flexible schedule).

  • You must be available full-time during the day for the first 6 to 8 weeks of training.

  • On site position at our Laval site (575 Armand Frappier).

  • Accessible by Public Transportation (Metro Montmorency), Free Parking for employees.
