We are looking for an enthusiastic and supportive Part-Time English Teacher to help high school students improve their reading, writing, and communication skills. This position will provide individualized or small-group instruction aligned with the Ontario Curriculum (Grades 9–12), focusing on essay writing, grammar, comprehension, and critical analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or small-group tutoring sessions in English for high school students.
  • Implement differentiated instructional strategies to meet diverse student learning needs.
  • Assist students with reading comprehension, writing assignments, and exam preparation.
  • Help students develop critical thinking and analytical writing skills.
  • Monitor and document student progress, providing constructive feedback and study recommendations.
  • Communicate regularly with students, parents, and school staff to ensure consistent academic support.
  • Maintain a positive and encouraging learning environment that fosters student confidence and engagement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field.
  • Experience tutoring or teaching high school English (Grades 9–12).
  • Strong understanding of the Ontario English Curriculum (e.g., ENG1D, ENG2D, ENG3U, ENG4U, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed.
  • Ability to tutor both in-person and/or online (depending on schedule and student needs).
