Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Refrigeration Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining refrigeration systems across various facilities. This role requires a strong mechanical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to ensure optimal operation of refrigeration equipment. The technician will play a vital role in maintaining the safety, efficiency, and reliability of refrigeration systems critical to our operations, including according to applicable codes and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and industrial refrigeration systems
  • Perform routine maintenance to prevent system failures and extend equipment lifespan
  • Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and blueprints for system diagnostics and repairs
  • Conduct plumbing and welding tasks as needed for system repairs or upgrades
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed
  • Collaborate with other maintenance personnel on complex projects involving HVAC, boiler systems, or appliance repair
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations during all maintenance activities
  • Assist with construction or renovation projects related to refrigeration infrastructure
  • Calibrate and adjust controls, instruments, and gauges
  • Oversee and inspect work completed by third-party contractors

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Refrigeration Technician or Mechanic with strong mechanical knowledge
  • Familiarity with HVAC systems, boilers, plumbing, welding, and appliance repair
  • Ability to read schematics and technical diagrams effectively
  • Prior experience in maintenance or construction environments preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose complex refrigeration issues
  • Knowledge of safety protocols related to refrigeration, HVAC, and electrical work
  • Relevant certifications or licenses in refrigeration or HVAC are highly desirable
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to safety standards

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Kelowna, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Education:

  • AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (required)

Experience:

  • Refrigeration: 4 years (preferred)

Language:

  • English (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Red Seal Refrig. Certification & Journeyman Gas B License (required)
