Role Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive HR Generalist to join our team. In this dynamic role, you will provide comprehensive support to the HR Manager and other stakeholders; serves as administrator for the human resources functions and workforce management, including recruiting, employee relations, health and safety, leave and attendance tracking and maintaining employee records. Provides internal support and partnership to business leaders to deliver required human resources. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication skills, the ability to handle confidential information with discretion, and a commitment to excellence in every aspect of their work.
This position is an on-site full-time role and will be based out of our Bolton facility.

What you will be doing?

  • Champion of Agrocrop's vision, and values, puts values in action and inspires others to do the same.
  • Knowledgeable and ensure compliance with Ontario Employment Standards Act (ESA), Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) and Ontario Human Rights Code.
  • Full-cycle recruitment for hourly and salary position/vacancy.
  • Posts open positions on various channels, reviews candidate applications, conduct screening interviews, recommends candidates to hiring managers, coordinates interview scheduling for all Production, and warehouse roles and onboarding.
  • Conduct first day orientation for all new full-time employees, familiarizing them with Agrocrop policies, procedures, and working environment.
  • Manage access card set-up for new hires
  • Be an active member of Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) and participate in workplace inspection or safety walk.
  • Benefits administration- enrolment, changes and termination of benefits.
  • First point of contact for hourly employee concerns, fostering a positive working environment.
  • Handle conflict resolution and workplace investigations as needed
  • Promote employee engagement initiatives and programs.
  • Conduct or assist in internal training or training programs for employee development and compliance.
  • Prepares required documentation consistent with past practice and current policy including; employment confirmation letters, disciplinary letters, wage increase letters, & Record of Employment.
  • Ensure employee records are accurately maintained and updated,
  • Generate HR reports as needed/required.
  • Track attendance, absenteeism and other key HR metrics.
  • Coordinates with payroll by providing all relevant information such as new hires, promotion, wage rate changes, termination and employee information updates

Qualification:

  • Strong understanding of Employment Standards Act (ESA),
  • Degree/Diploma in Human Resources or related field.
  • CHRP considered an asset but not required.
  • Experience with ADP WFN is a must with experience with other HRIS is desirable
  • 2-4 years in a related Human Resources role, manufacturing or warehouse environment is preferred.
  • Must have 1-2 years of experience with full cycle recruitment including experience with various hiring channels and methods, candidate review, and pre-screening.
