We're looking for a Senior Manager – Portfolio Origination, a senior commercial leader who will shape our energy contracting strategy and secure long-term revenue agreements for renewable and firmed energy products.

This is a pivotal role where you'll engage directly with major energy users, retailers, and intermediaries to deliver innovative contracting solutions that underpin our growing portfolio of renewable generation and storage assets. By building trusted relationships and negotiating complex agreements, you'll ensure our projects are bankable and aligned with customer needs.

What you'll do

  • Drive Origination Strategy:  Lead the origination and execution of complex energy contracts and structured deals, including PPAs and retail arrangements—identify opportunities, negotiate terms, and deliver commercially robust agreements.
  • Work strategically across pricing, legal, and governance – structure innovative solutions that manage risk and create value.
  • Drive outcomes, not leads – this is a senior commercial role focused on closing high-value transactions, not traditional sales.
  • Customer Engagement: Build and maintain deep relationships with senior decision-makers across corporates, retailers, and intermediaries.
  • End-to-End Ownership: Manage the full contracting lifecycle—from market strategy and buyer engagement through to pricing, negotiation, and execution.
  • Collaborate Across Squadron: Work closely with Development, Investment, Legal, Technical, and Energy Markets teams to deliver commercially robust solutions.
  • Market Representation: Represent Squadron Energy at industry events and forums, strengthening our reputation and market presence.

What we're looking for

  • 8+ years' experience in energy contract origination or structured energy product sales.
  • Proven track record of closing complex commercial energy transactions.
  • Strong network and relationships within the Australian energy market.
  • Strategic mindset, financial acumen, and ability to manage multiple negotiations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Degree in Finance, Commerce, Engineering, Law, or related discipline (MBA advantageous).
