Cafe Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the work of the Counter Attendants to ensure efficient and timely service, as well as ensure a positive customer service atmosphere is provided for guests. As a Cafe Supervisor, you will contribute to Goodwill's mission by supporting the success of Edgar & Joes Café, helping create jobs and opportunities, and offer great food and customer service to the local community.

What You Will Do:

  • Setting an example for employees on providing excellent customer service.
  • Follows the Customer Care Cycle (I Care) consistently providing world class customer service to all customers, internal and external, of Goodwill.
  • Communicating necessary health and safety policies and procedures in accordance with Goodwill's policies.
  • Schedule and prioritize work among employees.
  • Creating and maintaining a positive work environment.
  • Disciplinary responsibilities as outlined by management.
  • Adhering to and promoting use of the required uniform.
  • Ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of the café.
  • Handling customer satisfaction concerns and complaints.
  • Encouraging the development of employees through training and support.
  • Some administrative duties – filling out cash reports at end of day and completing bank deposits.
  • Ensuring quality of presentation.
  • Ensuring the safety and security of guests and employees.

  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Financial/numerical acumen for monetary transactions and cash handling.
  • Able to test, inspect, clean, and ensure functionality of various equipment.
  • Must have completed three month probationary period in Counter Attendant position.
  • Some high school or equivalent.
  • Safe Food Handling Certification.
  • Smart Serve Certification an asset for catering events.
