The Cost Management Analyst's mandate is to act as a business partner to the Merchandising team, providing expertise and guidance in cost management and analysis. Your main objective will be to understand and mitigate the impact of cost changes and provide analysis that will guide strategic decisions and align cost negotiations. The incumbent will leverage their analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret data, identify opportunities, and make recommendations.

Your role

  • Cost analysis: Perform detailed cost-benefit analysis of product categories, identify savings opportunities and submit recommendations to the Merchandising team
  • Risk management: Identify mitigation measures and propose recommendations for negotiation levers to mitigate the impact of cost changes.
  • Relationship management: Collaborate with the Merchandising team by helping to align their cost, term and contract negotiations, ensuring the best value for the business.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work with various departments to contribute to initiatives or special projects aimed at improving processes and monitoring results
  • Analyze sales data and financial performance to identify opportunities for improvement and propose recommendations.
  • Data management: Maintain and improve reporting models and tools to respond to business changes.

The Qualifications We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Work experience in retail and product merchandising
  • Work experience in cost analysis is an asset
  • Exceptional analytical skills and ability to interpret data.
  • Excellent proficiency in Excel and other analytical tools
  • Attention to detail: Accuracy in data management and identifying opportunities for savings.
  • Ability to consolidate, analyze and communicate complex data effectively
  • Strong problem-solving skills and comfort working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with all levels of the organization and across functions
  • Strong organization skills
  • Ability to operate in ambiguity
