Reports To: Office Manager / Dealership Accountant

We are currently seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to support our accounting and administrative functions. This is an hourly, in-person role well suited for someone who enjoys structured work, accuracy, and being a dependable part of the dealership's daily operations.
Position Overview
The Accounting Clerk plays a key support role in the dealership's back office, focusing primarily on accounts payable, record keeping, and general office administration. This position works closely with the Office Manager and accounting leadership to ensure accurate financial records and smooth day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable & Accounting Support
- Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner
- Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents
- Prepare and process cheque runs and electronic payments
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Assist with basic general ledger entries and account reconciliations
- Maintain organized and accurate accounting files (digital and paper)
Record Keeping & Administration
- Maintain organized dealership records and files
- Assist with vehicle deal jackets and accounting documentation
- Support month-end processes with data entry and reporting tasks
- Assist with payroll preparation and employee record maintenance
- Handle incoming mail, courier coordination, and document scanning
- Order office supplies and support general office needs
Compliance & Support
- Assist with sales tax documentation and basic remittance support
- Ensure proper documentation is maintained for audits and reviews
- Support the Office Manager / Accounting Team with ad-hoc tasks as required
Qualifications
- Previous experience in an accounting clerk, bookkeeping, or administrative
- Dealership or automotive experience is an asset but not required
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Solid organizational and time-management skills
- Comfortable working with numbers and financial documents
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
- Experience with accounting or dealership software is an asset
- Professional, dependable, and team-oriented attitude
Work Schedule
- Hourly position
- Full-time, Monday to Friday
- In-person at the dealership
- Occasional flexibility may be required during busy periods
