Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper / Accounting Clerk to support our day-to-day accounting operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, maintaining accurate financial records, and handling routine accounting tasks in a structured environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform accurate data entry of financial transactions
- Manage and record accounting entries using Sage 50 accounting software
- Deposit cheques and maintain proper records of receipts
- Reconcile bank accounts, loans, and loan repayments
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks
- Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records
- Prepare basic reports and support month-end processes
- Use Excel and other Microsoft applications for tracking, reporting, and analysis
- Assist with general administrative and accounting duties as required
Qualifications & Experience:
- Previous experience in bookkeeping or an accounting support role
- Proficiency with Sage 50 accounting software (required)
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to handle confidential financial information responsibly
- Good communication skills and ability to work independently
Preferred Skills:
- Experience reconciling loans and repayments
- Experience using Salesforce
- Familiarity with small to mid-sized business accounting
- Certificate or diploma in accounting, bookkeeping or a related field (not required).
