Field Process Engineer Trainee
. In this role, you will work directly at customer sites inspecting process equipment, support field service activities, troubleshoot system issues, and apply process engineering fundamentals in real world production environments. You will also collaborate closely with technical sales, field service and engineering teams, gaining hands on experience translating customer challenges into practical optimization solutions that improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance production performance. Roles And Responsibilities

  • Evaluate customer operating and maintenance practices directly at the facility to identify equipment issues, operating constraints, and factors affecting production or efficiency.
  • Perform onsite process assessments and basic equipment checks that support debottlenecking work and facility performance evaluations.
  • Participate in field service activities working alongside senior specialists on SLB service and installations.
  • Document field findings and prepare clear, practical reports that outline issues, recommended actions, and expected impact on operations.
  • Provide consistent follow‑up after field visits to ensure customers are progressing on action items and resolving operational challenges.
  • Utilize past and gained knowledge to support co-workers and operations.
  • Build strong working relationships with field supervisors, operators, and key client contacts by being a reliable technical resource onsite.
  • Identify opportunities during field work where SLB technologies, equipment, or services can help customers improve performance, reduce downtime, or address recurring issues.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in hands‑on field work involving process equipment.
  • Ability to perform basic troubleshooting, equipment inspections, and practical field assessments.
  • Previous experience in a technical engineering role within Oil & Gas, Midstream, or Processing industries is considered an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and ability to travel to customer sites regularly.
  • Ability to legally work and reside in Canada without company sponsorship.
