  1. POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a talented and motivated Process Control and Automation Engineer to join our team in Edmonton (Canada). In this role, you will design, implement, and optimize control systems that drive operational excellence and efficiency. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver automation solutions for complex industrial processes, supporting our commitment to quality, safety, and innovation.

1.1. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


• Design, develop, and commission process control systems, including PLC, DCS, and SCADA platforms.


• Analyze process requirements and translate them into effective automation strategies.


• Program, troubleshoot, and maintain automation hardware and software.


• Integrate field instrumentation, sensors, and actuators into control systems.


• Collaborate with process engineers, production teams, and IT to ensure seamless operation and data flow.


• Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead automation optimization projects.


• Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.


• Document system configurations, code, and procedures for future reference and audits.


• Provide technical support and training to operations and maintenance personnel.

1.2. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS


• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Automation, or a related field.


• 3+ years of experience in process control and industrial automation (or relevant internships/projects).


• Proficiency with PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley), DCS, and SCADA systems.


• Strong understanding of industrial networks, instrumentation, and control theory.


• Experience with DeltaV and ABB DCS is an asset.


• Experience with HMI development and data acquisition systems is a plus.


• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.


• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.


• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
