The Protein Candy Account Manager leads the B2B Account Management function, strengthening long-term partnerships with retail, distributor, and foodservice customers. This role is responsible for managing sales velocity, driving sales growth within existing accounts, ensuring exceptional service delivery, and working cross-functionally to support forecasting, demand planning, programs, and portfolio expansion.

Key Accountabilities

1. Account Ownership (Execution & Service)

  • Act as the primary contact for distributor and retail accounts.
  • Manage retail launch checklist, POs, pricing, deductions, promotions, and compliance requirements.
  • Provide timely responses to account needs and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
  • Hold retail partners accountable for delivering on planograms, promotional calendars, and other commitments.

2. Growth & Expansion

  • Expand distribution, shelf facings, additional placements, and other strategies to increase share-of-wallet with retailers.
  • Cross-sell and introduce new brands to existing partners.
  • Track promotions and optimize trade spend effectiveness.

3. Forecasting & Demand Planning

  • Own account-level forecasting and align with company planning cycles.
  • Partner with the supply chain team to minimize stockouts and overstock situations.
  • Adjust forecasts based on sell-in, sell-through, and seasonal demand trends.

4. Internal Collaboration

  • Partner with Sales Administration for pricing and PO entry support.
  • Collaborate with logistics/operations to ensure seamless account fulfillment.
  • Identify the need for account-specific programs and promotions; partner with brand managers to drive velocity growth.
  • Maintain a complete retail promo calendar across retail/distributor accounts.

5. CRM & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of account activities, promotion results, and forecasts in CRM.
  • Provide data-driven insights on account performance, risks, and growth opportunities to the VP of Revenue.
  • Review and analyze POS data to track sales performance, identify growth opportunities, and guide promotional and merchandising strategies.

6. Quarterly Retailer Meetings / Business Reviews

  • Schedule and conduct QBRs with distributor and retail accounts.
  • Review performance vs. forecast, sales targets, and promotional ROI.
  • Discuss upcoming demand plans, new product launches, and portfolio expansion opportunities.
  • Document action items and ensure follow-up with internal teams (marketing, operations, logistics).


About You (Must-Haves)

  • 5+ years of experience in account management, sales, or customer experience within CPG, food & beverage, or related industries.
  • Proven success in building and managing retailer and distributor relationships.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze data and translate insights into strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities with urgency and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with marketing, operations, and supply chain teams.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with natural, better-for-you, or emerging CPG brands.
  • Familiarity with trade spend management and optimization.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and POS data platforms.
  • Comfort in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment.
