Job Description
Reporting to the Corporate Health, Safety, & Environment (HS&E) Manager, the Senior H&S Specialist will assist the Site Leads & Managers to ensure the corporate standards and directions are imbedded in divisional safety strategies.

Salary Range- $75,000- $90,000
Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and review all components required of HSE Safety Management System including but not limited to policies, procedures, and forms. Manage continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Investigate hazard identifications, near misses, accidents, injuries, and safety violations and determine root cause and corrective actions.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with relevant HSE legislation and requirements, act as a liaison for external inspections and audits, drive corporate HSE expectations.
  • Conduct periodic site safety inspections and/or audits to monitor progress towards compliance with safety standards and strategy including assisting multiple business units with internal audits.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in the Occupational Health and Safety field
  • Certified Occupational Health and Safety designation, such as CRSP, CRST, NEBOSH or equivalent
  • An established Health and Safety background with experience conducting Incident Investigations, Hazard Assessments, developing JHA's, SOP's and Safety Training Programs would be considered an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage team members and other stakeholders
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to obtain certificate program in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Experience in an agricultural or operational environment will be considered an asset
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel to US and within Canada.
