ROLE:

Reporting to the Store Manager, the Retail Supervisor plays an integral role in the retail store by managing, leading and supporting the sales team. This day-to-day management of the retail environment is accomplished by ensuring all customers are acknowledged and assisted in their purchases by providing great customer service, scheduling to meet customer needs, organizing product for our retail Showroom/Contractors Aisle, communicate, meet deadlines, and ensure standards are being exceeded while adhering to all safety policies and procedures. The Supervisor is responsible for the sales associates which are responsible for selling and maintaining zone standards to meet company standards for safety, security, and productivity. The supervisor is also responsible to manage customer concerns, outside parking areas, lunchroom and support the store manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Ensure safety is a priority, product secured in racks, following safety procedures, and reporting/documenting and resolving unsafe actions.
  • Ensure team is efficiently assisting customer.
  • Delegate workload to team members to execute daily initiatives.
  • Communicate and work with team members to ensure Zones are maintained to standards.
  • Training of team members
  • Plays an active role in the team by openly sharing opinions and ideas on how to improve the customer's experience, and by participating in meetings and all training as required.
  • Engage in learning activities and listens to feedback to improve their own abilities.
  • Comply with company, store, and warehouse policies.
  • Adhere to Health & Safety policies and report any observed safety hazards immediately.
  • Uses professional language and maintain a professional appearance (e.g., hygiene, grooming) when interacting with others.
  • Alongside reporting manager, effectively schedule staff to ensure proper coverage.
  • Plan initiatives pertaining to promos, new product, pricing & signage, auditing price changes.
  • Work alongside reporting manager to address concerns and efficiencies.
  • Monitor sales and anticipate trends, use reports to ensure we are observing trends and adjusting accordingly.
  • Complete other tasks, as assigned by the Store Manager.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years experience as a supervisor; construction industry experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge of power tools and hand tools.
