Jiffy Auto Service is currently seeking a new full-time Mechanic to join our staff at our Vanier, ON location. Mechanic Apprentices completing their first (or second year) will also be considered for this position opening.

Mechanics and Apprentices perform a variety of tasks in the diagnostics, repair, and maintenance of customer vehicles. These Team Members hold a crucial position in our shop as they interact with customers on a daily basis and are essential in providing exceptional customer service.

As a member of our staff the Mechanic / Apprentice will:

  • Conduct general and major repair work on motor vehicles
  • Diagnose the source of problems and determine the extent of repairs required
  • Inspect, adjust and replace necessary parts
  • Conduct vehicle road tests to locate defects in operation

We are looking for a candidate that has a strong work ethic, strong diagnostic skills, in addition to:

  • Class A/310S license (first and second year 310S/Class A apprentices will be considered)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working in a team-based environment
  • Confidence and aptitude to operate independently in a supervised capacity
  • Adaptability and demonstrated readiness to succeed in assigned tasks
  • Demonstrated skill in auto repair and maintenance
  • Knowledge of various types of automotive related products
  • Knowledge of tools and equipment
  • Own Tools
  • Ability to troubleshoot
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Electronic and emission diagnostic
  • Availability for rotations in shifts (nights, after hours/on call)
  • Valid Driver's license (required)
