PURPOSE

The Production Stage 3 (Packaging) Team Member contributes by working on the packaging lines to prepare finished goods through filling and packing processes. They follow HACCP procedures and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) while also complying with health and safety protocols.

This is a 3 month contract. Hours are 7am-3pm Monday to Friday.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work as part of a team in either the processing or packaging stages of production
  • Work at various stations on the production line
  • Refill packaging materials as needed
  • Inspect work in progress and packaging materials to ensure they meet food safety and quality specifications
  • Review and record lot information on HACCP production forms for traceability, and accuracy
  • Maintain equipment and clean work area by following standard sanitation procedures
  • Follow GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), and HACCP protocols
  • Follow all Health and Safety rules, policies, and procedures
  • Perform other duties/functions assigned or required

REPORTS TO – Production Manager (1st Shift), Production Supervisor (2nd Shift)

TAKES DIRECTION FROM – Stage 3 Team Lead

SUPERVISES – None

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Must be comfortable working with raw meat products
  • Able to work in a cool/cold environment
  • Able to lift between 35 to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to maintain strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills, with an ability to work as a team player

RESPONSIBILITY FOR FOOD SAFETY AND QUALITY

  • Adhere to GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices),
  • Follow food defense, pest control procedures as needed
  • Report any food Safety concerns to Quality Assurance Manager who will start food safety assessments.
  • Ensure lot trace and records for production are completed on time and as per written procedures.
  • Inspect work in progress, raw material or packaging, prior to usage and communicate any issues identified.
  • Ensure that weights for finish goods are compliant with packaging specifications
  • Back up employee for CCP1B – Bones (when required)

TRAINING

  • GMP's, HACCP, Pest Control, Food Defense
  • Food Safety and Quality applicable procedures (Production, Sanitation)
  • CCP1B (Critical Control Point 1 – Biological)
