Position Title: Medical Receptionist – Family & Walk-In Clinic
Location: Ontario, Canada
Employment Type: Full-time / Part-time
Reports To: Clinic Manager or Physician(s)
Position Overview:
The Medical Receptionist plays a vital front-line role in delivering exceptional patient service in a family and walk-in clinic. This position requires proficiency in Acuro EMR software, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is professional, organized, and passionate about providing compassionate care to patients of diverse backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities:1. Front Desk & Patient Service
- Greet patients warmly and manage check-in/check-out process.
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments using Acuro EMR.
- Maintain confidentiality and a high standard of professionalism.
- Handle incoming phone calls, messages, and direct inquiries accordingly.
- Ensure timely patient intake and flow within the clinic.
2. Electronic Medical Records & Data Entry
- Register new patients and update existing records in Acuro.
- Manage referrals, requisitions, lab results, and document uploads.
- Process OHIP cards and verify health card information.
3. Administrative & Office Support
- Collect and process payments for uninsured services or third-party billing.
- Maintain office supplies and front-desk inventory.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized reception area.
- Support physicians with form preparation, faxes, and documentation as needed.
4. Compliance & Record-Keeping
- Ensure patient documentation is complete and compliant with Ontario health regulations.
- Follow PHIPA and privacy policies for patient information security.
- Prepare reports or summaries from EMR data as requested by management.
Qualifications: Education & Experience
- Completion of a Medical Office Administration diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a medical clinic setting (family medicine or walk-in).
- Proficient in Acuro EMR software – mandatory.
- Experience with OHIP billing and uninsured service processing.

Working Conditions:
- Clinic hours may include evenings and weekends.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.75-$25.05 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 36 per week
