Role Overview

The Junior Supplier Owner role is designed for early career business development professionals who aspire to grow into full Supplier Owners. This position focuses on proactive supplier sourcing, project activation, and measurable revenue generation rather than passive account maintenance or contract volume alone.

This is an execution focused role that requires regular market engagement. Junior Supplier Owners are expected to develop strong commercial judgment, communication skills, and increasing ownership across the supplier lifecycle under management guidance.

Supplier Sourcing Expectations

This role is not focused on managing pre assigned or mature supplier accounts. Junior Supplier Owners are responsible for actively sourcing new supplier relationships through market driven outreach, including:

  • Field sourcing and in person visits

  • Cold outreach and direct prospecting

  • Outbound communication through email, phone, and professional networking platforms

Responsibilities include initiating supplier relationships, presenting the platform value proposition, and supporting Contract 2.0 negotiations under management supervision.

During early stages, when supplier volume is limited, the role may also include selected onboarding and support activities such as basic system coordination and service level follow up to ensure a full understanding of the supplier lifecycle.

Key ResponsibilitiesSupplier Sourcing and Activation

  • Identify, source, and engage new supplier partners

  • Advance projects from initial contact through platform launch

  • Drive projects toward actual move in revenue generation

Contract and Onboarding Support

  • Support execution of Contract 2.0 under management guidance

  • Assist with completion of required contract appendices

  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure successful onboarding and launch

Governance and Service Awareness

  • Learn and apply supplier tiering and quality standards
  • Monitor basic service level performance and escalate issues when identified
  • Flag low quality or non compliant supplier resources as appropriate

Performance Expectations

Success in this role is measured by the following outcomes:

  • Projects launch smoothly and generate real, verifiable revenue

  • Supplier relationships are independently advanced with sound judgment

  • The employee demonstrates increasing ownership, accountability, and decision making capability

Hours of Work

This is a full time position with standard working hours of approximately 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Additional hours may be required from time to time based on business needs. Overtime eligibility and compensation will be provided in accordance with applicable provincial employment standards legislation.

Compensation OverviewBase Salary

CAD $4,000 per month, equivalent to CAD $48,000 annually.

The base salary compensates for onboarding, training, learning curve, and core responsibilities associated with the role. Base pay will not fall below applicable minimum wage requirements for all hours worked.

Performance Based Bonus

Employees may be eligible for a monthly performance bonus based on revenue generating results.

  • Base bonus eligibility up to CAD $500 per month

  • Project performance multiplier ranging from 1.0 to 1.6

  • Maximum monthly bonus capped at CAD $800

Bonuses are earned only when projects generate actual, verified move in revenue. Bonuses are discretionary, non guaranteed, and governed by the company's bonus policy. Bonuses do not replace base wages or statutory entitlements.

Benefits and Time Off Vacation and PTO

Employees are eligible for up to 15 days of paid time off per calendar year, inclusive of and compliant with all applicable provincial statutory vacation requirements. Vacation accrual and usage are administered in accordance with provincial employment standards and company policy.

Sick Leave

Employees are provided 5 paid sick days per year, meeting or exceeding provincial statutory requirements.

Statutory Holidays

Employees are entitled to all provincially mandated statutory holidays based on their work location. Where company paid holidays exceed statutory requirements, the greater benefit will apply.

Retirement Savings

Eligible employees may participate in a Canadian retirement savings program, such as an RRSP or group retirement plan, subject to plan terms and eligibility requirements.

Growth and Advancement

High performing Junior Supplier Owners may be eligible for promotion to Senior Supplier Owner. Advancement includes expanded ownership scope, increased decision making authority, and an enhanced compensation framework based on performance and business needs.
