Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead our dynamic development team. The ideal candidate will oversee the design, development, and deployment of innovative software solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical excellence. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of software development methodologies, and proficiency in a broad range of technologies including web development, application development, and cloud platforms. The Software Engineering Manager will foster a collaborative environment, promote best practices, and drive continuous improvement across projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of software engineers across multiple projects, ensuring high-quality deliverables and adherence to deadlines.
- Oversee the full software development lifecycle, including planning, design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to define project requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Promote the adoption of Agile methodologies to enhance team productivity and responsiveness.
- Manage code repositories using tools such as GitHub, SVN, and Git; enforce version control best practices.
- Ensure the scalability, security, and performance of applications deployed on cloud platforms like AWS and Azure.
- Drive innovation by evaluating new technologies such as REST APIs, C#, Python, JavaScript, C++, Ruby on Rails, VBA, .NET frameworks, Linux environments, and APIs integration.
- Monitor project progress through metrics and reporting; address technical challenges proactively.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning by encouraging professional development within the team.
Requirements
- Proven experience in software engineering leadership roles with a strong background in web development and application development.
- Extensive knowledge of programming languages including JavaScript, Java, C#, Python, C++, Ruby on Rails, VBA, and C.
- Hands-on experience with SQL databases such as MySQL and application management using tools like SVN and GitHub.
- Strong understanding of cloud services including AWS and Azure; experience deploying scalable applications in cloud environments.
- Familiarity with RESTful API design and integration strategies.
- Proficiency in front-end development frameworks as well as Linux system administration.
- Experience working within Agile teams using methodologies like Scrum or Kanban.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; advanced degrees or certifications are a plus. This role offers an opportunity to lead innovative projects in a fast-paced environment while utilizing a broad spectrum of modern technologies to shape the future of our software solutions.
