Senior Engineer, Software

Summary of Duties:

• Responsible for the software development lifecycle, methodology, and ownership of all aspects of these processes
• Produces development artifacts required for Software Development Life Cycle
• Drives tasks to successful completion through effective partnerships, customer interaction, and IT coordination
• Estimates the time it will take to perform tasks of self and others
• Participates in support conference calls, troubleshoots system issues, and communicates effectively in large settings
• Understands the business processes implemented in the team's applications in order to provide resolution and develop solutions
• Participates and leads software development ceremonies
• Develops and executes software testing and validation procedures
• Maintains and supports the applications and technologies used by the development team
• Leverages existing services and patterns, and recommends candidates for reusable components
• Understands application dependencies and other system impacts
• Interacts with the customer including the documenting of requirements and proposal of appropriate solutions
• Participates in project meetings for project definition, needs assessment, and design review
• Identifies minimal viable technical products that meet business requirements.
• Provides input into the Total Cost of Ownership.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Decision Science, Engineering (any), Statistics, or related field of study AND Five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation in which the required experience was gained. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Decision Science, Engineering (any), Statistics, or related field of study AND Five (5) years of experience, the employer will also accept a Master's degree in Computer Science, Decision Science, Engineering (any), Statistics, or related field of study AND Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation in which the required experience was gained. Applicants must also have demonstrated experience with the following: Application development; Data engineering, including guiding ideation, design, and decisions in a collaborative team setting; Snowflake, data modeling, data warehouse design and implementation; Python programming, designing, implementation,  end to end testing, and deployment; Architecting and implementing modern data platform (data lake or data warehouse) with batch and streaming data ingestion and processing on Azure or AWS cloud; Developing NoSQL-based data solutions, preferably Cosmos DB; Data pipeline development with Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks; Complete solutions including unit/function/integration testing, documentation, pipeline monitoring and support, and team teach-outs; SQL query, data manipulation language (DML), and data definition language (DDL) including managing database tables and views; Streaming data and technologies, such as Azure Event Hubs; Agile and DevOps methodologies; Open source technologies and cloud services; Sybase Transact-SQL and Data models; UNIX Shell scripts; and SQL Server Integration Services or other ETL tool.
