Overview

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments to determine clients' needs and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Provide occupational therapy interventions to clients to improve their functional abilities
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as speech therapists and case managers, to ensure comprehensive care
  • Monitor clients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
  • Educate clients and their families on strategies for improving daily living skills
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client evaluations, progress notes, and treatment plans

Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Knowledge of occupational therapy principles, techniques, and equipment
  • Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards in occupational therapy practice

Requirements

  • Degree or Master's in Occupational Therapy (from a university accredited by the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists)
  • Registered and in good standing with the Saskatchewan Society of Occupational Therapists (SSOT) and with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT), or be willing to get registered with both.
  • Ability and willingness to travel with a valid driver's licence and a maintained personal vehicle.
  • Proof of professional liability insurance.
  • Experience in pediatrics is considered an asset
  • Criminal/Vulnerable Persons Check is required
