About the Role
TLNT Bridge Recruiting is partnering with a respected Calgary-based organization to help them hire a Senior Full Stack Software Developer. This role sits at the heart of their development team and plays a key part in designing, building, and optimizing complex applications and platforms. You will work closely with technical and business stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, high-performing solutions that support ongoing growth.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
• Lead the design and architecture of scalable web applications and services.
• Promote coding standards, best practices, and strong system design principles.
• Provide direction when addressing complex issues and architectural decisions.
Design and Development
• Build and enhance full-stack applications using React, Svelte, and TypeScript on the front end, and or Fastify on the back end.
• Develop and maintain secure, high-performing APIs with a focus on scalability and reliability.
• Architect solutions using microservices and serverless patterns when suitable.
Database and Data Management
• Design, optimize, and maintain relational databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL, including advanced query tuning and schema planning.
• Advise on when to use NoSQL tools such as DynamoDB and guide integration.
Cloud and Infrastructure
• Lead deployments and support application operations in AWS, including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and related services.
• Support DevOps practices that include CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and orchestration.
• Apply cloud native design patterns to build scalable and resilient infrastructure.
Quality and Reliability
• Define and oversee testing strategies, including unit, integration, and automated end-to-end testing.
• Proactively identify bottlenecks, security concerns, and performance improvements.
Collaboration and Strategy
• Work with product managers, designers, and business stakeholders to align solutions with business goals.
• Support long term technology planning and evaluate new tools and frameworks.
On Call and Production Maintenance
• Participate in an on-call rotation to support production systems and maintain high availability.
• Investigate incidents, complete root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions.
• Support scheduled maintenance, database upgrades, and infrastructure updates.
• Collaborate with operations teams to improve monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
Requirements
• 7 plus years of full-stack development experience delivering production-grade systems.
• Strong front-end skills with React, Svelte, Angular, or TypeScript.
• Deep back-end experience with , Fastify, or similar frameworks.
• Advanced relational database skills, including schema design, optimization, and performance tuning.
• Hands on AWS experience including EC2, S3, Lambda, and RDS.
• Proven ability to design and scale distributed systems using microservices and serverless patterns.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices such as CI/CD, containerization, and infrastructure automation.
• Strong problem-solving skills and comfort working through ambiguity.
• Clear and effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to Have
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools.
• Background in fintech, high-volume data environments, or regulated industries.
• Leadership or mentorship experience with the ability to guide junior developers and influence technical direction.
