Personal Support Workers – Full Time, Part Time

Community Care City of Kawartha Lakes is seeking Personal Support Workers (PSW) with full time, part time and casual availability. As an integral part of the home and community care team, PSW's support, encourage and provide independence for patients in their homes and community setting by assisting with activities of daily living. The work of the Personal Support Worker supports independence, well-being and community connections to services.

The PSW is in the unique position of knowing our clients in a deeply meaningful and intimate basis. The PSW advocates for quality of life for the clients by providing a clean, healthy, respectful, stimulating, and safe client-focused experience by delivering inclusive quality and culturally appropriate care to Elders or those with special needs and the citizens of Kawartha Lakes and surrounding communities.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Assist clients with all aspects of activities of daily living while maintaining dignity and privacy in an individualized client-focused manner.

• Collaborate with the care team to provide and promote excellence in client care.

• Prepare nutritious meals and snacks, including special diets, as determined by the care plan.

• Provide basic homemaking tasks and companionship to help clients enjoy a better quality of life.

• Complete and document all aspects of support in the client database as per standard operating procedures.

• Other responsibilities as outlined in the job description.

KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION

• Successful completion of an Accredited Personal Support Worker (PSW) program through an accredited college or training facility

• Passion for making a difference in your community

• Valid driver license and access to a reliable vehicle

• Current Level C CPR and First Aid

• Valid Vulnerability Sector Check is required

HOURS OF AVAILABILITY- Days evenings and every other weekend on call.

WAGE & BENEFTITS

The wage range for this exciting opportunity is $18.65 to $20.44 per hour. In addition, a $3.00/hour wage enhancement will be applied to the selected candidate's wage.

Placement on the organization's wage grid will be determined based on the candidate's skills, knowledge, and experience.

Full-time candidates with a Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) of 0.80 or higher are eligible for paid benefits.
