Drill Rig Operator

SB Canada is currently seeking a Drill Rig Operator for the Edmonton region. This position is part of a unionized environment. We are seeking candidates who are open to working in a unionized workplace.
Key Responsibilities of the Role
- Routine daily inspection of all parts of the drill rig for maintenance, safe operation and cleanliness; particular attention to straps and cables for signs of wear
- Knowledge of hand signals and load limits of the drill rig
- Knowledge of safe blocking on all sides for leveling and stabilization of the drill rig to prevent tipping and/or sliding
- Awareness of both overhead concerns and buried or concealed factors which may cause unsafe operation
- Compliance to the SB Canada's rigging safety procedures
- Responsible for the safe operation of the track mounted rigs installing cast in place concrete (CIP) and continuous flight auger (CFA) piles
- Ability to install casings, prevent water infiltration, rock drilling, use of earth and rock augers, core barrels and mud buckets

Qualifications – What Will Make You Successful
- 1+ years of experience operating various classes of drill rigs – Soilmec/Watson
- 1+ years of experience in foundation and shoring drilling
- Knowledge of platform and safe lifting procedures
- Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions to enhance organizational effectiveness; ability to take on self-directed tasks when necessary;
- SB Canada will mentor, train and develop

Pay: $33.42-$38.41 per hour
