About The Role
The Senior Data Analyst will play a critical role within Teranet's Data & Analytics team, primarily supporting the Commercial Solutions line of business. This role involves leveraging advanced data analytics to generate actionable insights, improve organizational efficiencies, and develop innovative products and services. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams—including marketing, product development, finance, data engineering, and external partners—to understand business needs and translate them into technical data solutions.

The Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for designing and delivering sophisticated reporting and visualization tools, conducting exploratory data analysis, and identifying trends and anomalies that inform strategic decision-making. Additionally, this role involves evangelizing the value of data-driven approaches across the organization, fostering a culture of analytics maturity. The position requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional capable of managing large datasets, ensuring data quality, and providing meaningful insights that support business growth and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a Data Analyst or Senior Data Analyst
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and Microsoft Excel
• Advanced expertise in Tableau or other Business Intelligence tools
• Knowledge of Big Data Technologies such as HDFS, Spark, etc.
• Experience with Cloud platforms including AWS and/or Azure
• Understanding of spatial data concepts, geospatial data formats (e.g., GeoJSON, Shapefiles), and tools like ArcGIS
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to connect data insights to business strategies
• Excellent communication skills, capable of translating technical findings into clear, actionable recommendations
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple priorities
• Curiosity and resourcefulness to explore new data sources and analytical methodologies

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business objectives and translate them into technical data requirements
• Research, identify, and extract external data sources relevant to business use cases, demonstrating creativity and resourcefulness
• Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and quality across diverse datasets, diagnosing and enhancing data pipelines as needed
• Partner with data engineers and data scientists to align data models and pipelines with organizational goals
• Develop and maintain complex dashboards and visualizations using Tableau, Excel, and other BI tools to communicate insights effectively
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover hidden trends, outliers, and anomalies, providing strategic insights
• Build segmentation and categorization models to support targeted marketing, product development, and customer analysis
• Translate complex technical findings into clear, non-technical reports and presentations for stakeholders
• Champion the adoption of data-driven decision-making across the organization through education and advocacy
