Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Alberta Motor Association Full time $100,000 - $150,000 per year

THE ONLY DIRECTION YOU KNOW IS

above AND beyond.

The Opportunity

You're one of those people who's always got their head in the clouds—or rather, the cloud. We love that about you. You're passionate about helping organizations collaborate, innovate, and thrive with Microsoft 365. We're looking for a senior technical analyst with deep, hands-on experience delivering and managing Microsoft 365 at scale—across core services like Teams, SharePoint, Exchange, OneDrive, and Entra ID. You've also worked with Microsoft Purview for compliance and data governance, and you know your way around Microsoft Defender for Office 365 and Defender for Cloud Apps to keep collaboration secure and threats in check.

The Team You've Been Looking For

AMA is more than a workplace; it's a family. Together, we help protect the things that matter most to our more than one-million members—everything from roadside safety to retail savings, food security to childhood well-being. And with operations that span automotive, registries, travel, insurance and more, the opportunities to grow with us are almost limitless

Building on a century of proud service in Alberta communities, we're passionate about making a meaningful difference in the places where we live and work. And that all begins with our people.

As part of the AMA team, you'll enjoy:

  • Competitive salary and flexible benefits
  • Employer-paid retirement savings program
  • Employee-exclusive discounts on travel, insurance, memberships, and more
  • Free travel medical insurance for you and your immediate family
  • Ongoing professional development
  • Paid vacation and personal days, including a Volunteer Day and Me Day
  • Flexible work models that make sense for your lifestyle

Who You Are

  • You like being in an environment that allows you to connect and interact with people daily but are just as comfortable working independently.
  • You're confident making decisions—guided by data, your lived experiences, and a strong sense of integrity.
  • You're a problem solver with an inquisitive, analytical mind. You love coming up with new ways to tackle a challenge and relish digging into the details to find a solution while reducing risk.
  • You know how to talk tech without the jargon—and people love that.
  • You're not afraid to ask 'why' and push for better ways of doing things.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • You're a strong communicator who can translate technical concepts into clear, business-friendly language—and vice versa
  • You know how to juggle priorities, balancing operational responsibilities with project work, and you thrive in environments where you can take initiative with minimal direction
  • You have a post-secondary degree or diploma in an appropriate field like Information Technology or Computer Science
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in a fast-paced mid-size to enterprise environments, including:
  • Microsoft 365 core services such as Teams, SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, and OneDrive
  • Advanced PowerShell skills for automating tasks, generating reports, and managing configurations across Microsoft 365 and Entra ID
  • Extensive experience managing hybrid identity environments using Microsoft Active Directory, Entra ID, and Entra Connect, conditional access, and identity lifecycle management
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview, including the creation of retention and sensitivity labels, policy configuration, and compliance reporting to support data governance and regulatory requirements
  • Deep understanding of Microsoft Defender for Office 365 and Defender for Cloud Apps, including configuration of custom threat protection policies for high-risk users, real-time session control, and app discovery to identify and manage shadow IT
  • Proven experience enabling secure external collaboration using Entra ID External Identities (B2B), including guest access governance, cross-tenant access settings, and integration with Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive

What You Bring to the Table

  • Microsoft Certified: Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert
  • Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate
  • Experience with Microsoft Graph API for advanced automation and integration
  • Experience with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages)
  • Experience with regulatory compliance frameworks (PCI DSS, OSFI, etc)
  • Experience with implementing Privilege Access Management solutions
