Duties:

The ECE reports to the supervisor and is responsible for performing the following duties:

  • Work in collaboration with the other Educators to provide a high quality developmentally appropriate program that reflects the 4 Foundations from

"How Does Learning Happen"& the E.L.E.C.T document.

  • Maintain ongoing written observation and photo documentation of children and programming.
  • Engage meaningfully with the children to support their learning and emotional & physical development.
  • Maintain a clean and organized inspirational learning environment.
  • Follow all health guidelines specified by Algoma Public Health and the

Child Care and Early Years Act.

  • Provide daily records of children's attendance, activities and injuries
  • Model positive adult/child relationships
  • Ensure Children's Safety
  • Promote a welcoming environment for all families and co workers.
  • Have a flexible nature to adapt to day to day changes of environment

Qualifications

  • E.C.E Diploma
  • Registered with the College of ECE
  • Knowledge of How Does Learning Happen
  • Experience working with children in a licensed childcare centre
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on teamwork
  • Current First Aid/ CPR
  • Knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act
  • Computer knowledge is an asset
  • Clear Criminal Reference Check for the vulnerable sector

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract, Casual

Pay: $22.00-$26.00 per hour
