Pay Rate: $26.01/hour

Overview

As a key member of a national leading security company, the Health Care Security Guard plays a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This position requires strong decision-making skills, professionalism, and the ability to respond effectively to emergency and high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities
  • Apply strong decision-making and communication skills to all security and safety duties
  • Ensure safety and emergency procedures are followed at all times
  • Follow site-specific Post Orders
  • Complete required site-specific training and follow direction from Client Service Managers or Supervisors
  • Conduct traffic and pedestrian control at site access points
  • Patrol assigned areas on foot or by vehicle to ensure personnel, building, and equipment security
  • Monitor environments for safety hazards and infractions
  • Observe, report, and respond to security breaches, facility hazards, and emergency situations
  • Provide assistance to individuals in need of support
  • Contact emergency responders such as police, fire, or ambulance services when required
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and data integrity
  • Respond to inquiries and information requests in a professional manner
  • Utilize two-way radios and computer applications effectively
  • Act with professionalism, integrity, and accountability
  • Promote workplace safety and support fellow team members
Requirements
  • Must live within 30 minutes of Grande Prairie
  • Must have full availability during the week
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an Alberta Security License
  • Availability for a variety of shifts, including overnights and weekends
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
  • First Aid and CPR Level C certification
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with a professional demeanor
  • Ability to write comprehensive reports and maintain detailed site logs
  • Ability to make sound decisions independently while remaining composed in emergencies
  • High level of discretion when handling confidential information
  • Ability to perform under pressure and in adverse situations
  • Ability to walk 18–20 km per shift and climb stairs
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada
