Overview As a key member of a nationally leading security company, the Security Officer will: Apply decision‑making and strong communication skills to all duties and responsibilities related to security and safety. Ensure that safety and emergency procedures are followed. Follow post orders for each posted site. Undertake site‑specific training and follow direction and guidance from the Client Service Manager or supervisor. Conduct traffic and pedestrian control at site access points and vehicles. Patrol assigned areas on foot or in motor vehicle to ensure personnel, building, and equipment security. Monitor the environment for safety infractions or hazards. Watch for and report irregularities such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations. Offer support to anyone in need of assistance. Contact emergency responders such as police, fire, or ambulance personnel as required. Maintain strict confidentiality and integrity of data and information. Respond to inquiries and requests for information in an appropriate manner. Utilize two‑way radio and computer applications. Act with professionalism and integrity. Qualifications & Requirements Availability for a variety of shifts, including overnight shifts and weekends. Ability to obtain an Alberta security license. Valid class 5 license and own vehicle. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal and customer‑service skills while remaining professional with a tactful and friendly demeanor. Ability to write comprehensive reports and maintain site logs. Ability to make immediate decisions while maintaining composure in emergency situations with minimal supervision. Discretion when handling confidential and private information. Ability to perform under pressure and in adversity. Ability to walk 18–20 km and climb stairs. Authorized to legally work in Canada.
