**Responsibilities**

Responding to security and enforcement-related incidents, emergencies and alarms
Be the lead enforcement resource for issues related to social disorder, trespassing and encampments.
Enforcing facility rules, municipal bylaws, and Provincial Statues
Conducting frequent mobile and foot patrols in assigned areas and facilities
Problem-solving through social development
Proactively provide businesses and the public with general assistance and exceptional customer service.
Exchanging criminal and confidential information with the RCMP and other applicable agencies
The Public Security Unit will work closely with and support the Mobile Outreach Program and other social service providers.

**Position Requirements**

Must be comfortable to work 12 hours shifts (day or night) and must be physically fit to work
Must be comfortable standing for an extended period if the job requires
Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs
Must be able to communicate fluently in English (written and oral)

**Qualifications**

High School Diploma or equivalent
Must hold a valid Security License
Proven experience as a security officer
Helpful, courteous attitude
Must have a class 5 driver's license and a clean driver's record
Effective interpersonal skills, taking direction from a management team
Flexible, reliable, punctual, and able to be contracted for last-minute work.

**Salary**: From $18.00 per hour
