Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the dental team by providing exceptional patient care, assisting with procedures, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Experience with dental software such as Epic and Dentrix, as well as familiarity with orthodontics and pediatrics, will be highly valued. Must be available on the weekend and evening shift
Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments in accordance with infection control protocols
- Assist the dentist during various procedures, including orthodontic treatments and pediatric dentistry
- Take and develop dental radiographs using CAD technology when necessary
- Manage patient records using Epic and Dentrix software systems
- Provide patient education on oral health care and post-treatment instructions
- Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient check-in/check-out processes, similar to a dental receptionist role
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety standards
- Support the team with other duties as assigned to ensure efficient clinic operations
Qualifications
- Proven experience in dental assisting, with knowledge of medical terminology and dental procedures
- Familiarity with dental software platforms such as Epic and Dentrix is preferred
- Experience working with orthodontics, pediatrics, or in a clinical setting is advantageous
- Knowledge of CAD for digital imaging or modeling is a plus
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with patients of all ages
- Certification or training in dental assisting is preferred but not mandatory
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
