Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will support our dental team in providing high-quality patient care while ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow in the office. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with both patients and staff.
Duties
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments are prepared and available.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as required.
- Maintain patient records accurately using dental software such as Dentrix or Epic.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Manage appointment scheduling, including follow-ups, cancellations, and confirmations.
- Sterilize instruments and maintain the cleanliness of the treatment area in compliance with health regulations.
- Support orthodontic procedures by preparing materials and assisting during treatments.
- Collaborate with the dental receptionist to ensure seamless patient flow and communication.
- Provide assistance in pediatric dentistry settings, ensuring a comfortable experience for young patients.
Requirements
- Completion of a dental assisting program or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in using dental software such astracker is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of orthodontics, pediatrics, and medical terminology is beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Certification in CPR or BLS is preferred.
