The Role
The Logistics Analyst works closely with Scheduling and Commercial Services and other internal groups to help support the analytics and reporting requirements of the department. The Logistics Analyst ensures data is managed to assist with the safe, efficient, and optimized movement of products.
What You Will Do
As a Logistics Analyst, you will:
- Check fluid inventory levels at Gibson refinery and stock points.
- Update daily inventory tracking reports with prior day activity using MIMS tracker and internal tracking sheets.
- Work closely with the Gibson rail scheduling team on loading out D822 and LSRD from the refinery to ship to stock points.
- Prepare and provide daily reports to the marketing team showing their position at stock points.
- Build strong relationships through networking with industry customers and carriers to understand key business drivers and anticipate industry trends.
- Track daily sales of volume through the job board.
- Collaborate with all stakeholders in the supply chain to minimize or eliminate accessorial charges.
- Communicate and negotiate with various internal groups such as contracts, accounting, and finance and, as well as with external clients and service providers.
- Assist in all month end tasks including balancing and reconciliation of inventories to meet accounting deadlines.
- Monitor customer credit limits and relay information to marketers as needed
- Assist Schedulers with monthly nominations.
- Run comparative analytics to provide to marketing.
- Review invoices for payment.
- On-call aspect required for weekend and evening coverage
- Demonstrate a personal commitment and proactive approach to Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) through participation in all applicable EH&S programs and ensures safe operation of the branch, team or unit and compliance with all Company EH&S policies and procedures.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring To The Role
- Post-secondary degree in Business, Economics, Logistics or a related field preferred.
- 0 - 2 years of professional work experience.
- Demonstrates passion for the energy industry and a commitment to contributing to its evolving landscape.
- Related experience in Crude Oil industry would be considered an asset.
- Demonstrates a proficiency in MS Office systems.
- Proven ability to be proactive, self-motivated and take initiative.
- Demonstrates high analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Exhibits strong communication skills and ability to win over truck carriers, producers and operations staff.
- Ability to adjust to changing and conflicting demands, responsibilities and issues.
- Ability to pay attention to detail and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Exhibits a process for improvement mindset.
- Familiarity with Right Angle would be considered an asset.

Gibson Energy Operates Through Two Main Segments

Gibson Energy has a strong presence in the United States, due to the acquisition of the Gateway Terminal in Ingleside, Texas. This terminal is a world-class liquids terminal and export facility with very large crude carrier (VLCC) capabilities and direct pipeline connections to key basins like the Permian and Eagle Ford. The acquisition strengthens Gibson's cash flow with over 95% of the revenue under take-or-pay contracts with high-quality counterparties.
