Join our dynamic team as a Fleet Mechanic and take charge of maintaining and repairing a wide range of vehicles and equipment at our yard or directly at customer sites. This energetic role offers the opportunity to work in diverse environments, troubleshoot mechanical issues on the spot, and deliver exceptional service that keeps our clients moving smoothly. As a Fleet Mechanic, you'll be the go-to expert for vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance, ensuring safety and reliability on every job. Your hands-on skills, proactive attitude, and technical expertise will drive success in this fast-paced, rewarding position.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain our fleet of light trucks, heavy trucks, trailers, wheel loaders, excavators and skid steers.
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of vehicles to identify mechanical issues accurately and efficiently.
- Perform repairs and maintenance tasks such as engine diagnostics, brake replacements, tire rotations, fluid checks, and electrical system troubleshooting.
- Utilize diagnostic tools including Ohmmeters to measure electrical resistance and ensure proper functioning of vehicle components.
- Follow safety protocols diligently to maintain a secure work environment during all repair activities.
- Communicate clearly with customers about repair needs, timelines, and maintenance recommendations to foster trust and satisfaction.
- Maintain detailed service records for each vehicle serviced, documenting repairs performed and parts used.
- Manage mobile service equipment and tools to ensure readiness for each job site visit.
- Adhere to manufacturer specifications and industry standards to deliver high-quality workmanship consistently.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a mechanic with a strong foundation in automotive repair techniques.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as Ohmmeters for electrical troubleshooting.
- Ability to perform repairs efficiently in various outdoor or on-site environments while maintaining safety standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail when diagnosing vehicle issues.
- Strong communication skills to explain technical information clearly to customers.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to operate mobile service vehicles safely.
