We are seeking an enthusiastic and service-oriented Junior Produce Sales Representative to contribute to our expansion within the Canadian Market. This is an excellent opportunity for an independent, results-driven individual with strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Actively prospect and generate new business opportunities within the Canadian market.
  • Source and secure new accounts, managing existing relationships for profitable sales growth.
  • Understand customers' business needs to provide appropriate products and business solutions.
  • Build and maintain positive customer relationships by analyzing and assisting them in determining their ideal product mix.
  • Communicate current market intelligence (pricing, supply, quality, trends, etc.) to the Sales Team.
  • Coordinate and deliver presentations to prospective customers.
  • Manage and resolve conflicts with clients effectively.
  • Identify and leverage various opportunities for business development.
  • Book and record produce orders with customers.
  • Negotiate pricing and volume to achieve sales objectives.
  • Perform product allocation when demand exceeds supply, handling sales allowances to increase revenue.
  • Work to meet/exceed established sales targets.
  • Organize time efficiently among various duties and responsibilities.
  • Be adaptable, open to learning, and embrace change.
  • Demonstrate high ethical standards, maintain teamwork, and set a positive example for team members.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a similar role in the Produce, Foodservice, Retail, or Hospitality industries is valued.
  • Comfortable to making cold calls to potential customers
  • Mandarin language proficiency is a plus, and knowledge of other languages adds value.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer software (Google Sheets, Google Docs, etc.).
  • Adaptability to Quickbooks or other sales software.
  • Solid prioritization and time management skills.
  • Strong ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Proficient negotiation skills and comfortable with challenging conversations.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule.
  • Exercise good judgment, making decisions that impact the company positively.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and conduct at work and company-related functions.
  • Ability to safely lift over 50lb.

Hours: 40hr/week (average as it can fluctuate based on business)
