Position Details

Nason Contracting Group Ltd. is currently seeking local Journeyperson Carpenters with Hoarding and Formwork Stripper experience for work at our MNP Sports Center in Calgary, AB.

  • Schedule: Monday - Friday
  • Benefits and RRSP Provided As Per Collective Agreement

What You Will Be Working On

  • Build and install temporary hoarding panels, gates and barriers around construction zones
  • Ensure hoardings are stable, secure, and compliant with safety regulations
  • Remove formwork, molds, etc.
  • Installation, modification, and maintenance of temporary hoardings, ensuring they meet safety standards, building codes, and project specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirement
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and/or other materials
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and or roof systems
  • Fit and install trim items such as doors, stairs, molding and hardware

What We Are Looking For

  • CSTS 2020
  • WHMIS 2015
  • ESC Fall Protection
  • Valid Journeyperson certificate in the trade of Carpentry
  • Experience with Hoarding and Stripping Formwork on commercial construction sites, including temporary enclosures, security barriers, and partitions
  • Familiarity with fall protection and engineered lift plans related to Doka setups
  • Extensive knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to the work
  • The ability to lift, carry and handle weight up to 50lbs
  • Physical ability to perform strenuous tasks and lift heavy materials
  • Must be organized, self-driven, and have ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions
