Located in Georgetown, Ontario, V Eatery offers quality authentic Vietnamese cuisine and various selection of bubble tea and Vietnamese drinks. At V Eatery, you can experience authentic delicious Vietnamese cuisine from tasty appetizers to variety of rice combo and vermicelli noodle dishes. We are currently seeking an experienced Vietnamese Cuisine Head Cook to join our restaurant.
Position Details:
Location: 146 Guelph Street, Georgetown, Ontario Canada L7G 4A6
Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible.
Salary Expectation: $25 - $36.50 per hour
Working Hours: permanent position, full-time by shift (30hr-35hr/week)
Benefits: 2 weeks paid vacation per calendar year

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan food preparation and ingredients, ensure all orders are of excellent quality and served in a timely manner.
- Plan and develop menus, recipes, daily specials to refine and create traditional Vietnamese dishes within established budget.
- Work with restaurant owner to develop promotions and new menu items.
- Manage and maintain work schedule for kitchen staff/helper to ensure smooth and effective flow of activities in the kitchen.
- Lead, mentor, and manage kitchen staffs/helpers and oversee kitchen operations.
- Manage and maintain budget and inventory by taking stock of ingredients and equipment.
- Establish maintenance and cleaning schedules for equipment, storage, and work areas and enforce safety and sanitation standards in the kitchen.
- Ensure compliance with applicable health codes and regulations.
- Assist restaurant owner and participate in interview process and selection of kitchen staff, as well as training staff to prepare and cook the menu items.
- Prepare and complete Vietnamese authentic dishes: cutting, chopping, stirring, and mixing ingredients; and adding seasonings.
- Taste and evaluate dishes before service to maintain high standards, as well as ensure proper presentation and plating styles.

Job Requirements:
- Completion of secondary education is required.
- Minimum 5 years related working experience as cook/chief specialized in authentic Vietnamese cuisine is required.
- Prior experience in managing staff and creating menus is preferred.
- Deep knowledge of Vietnamese cooking techniques: such as broth development, stir-frying, work skills, herb preparation, noddle handling and cooking, grilling and marinating meats in Vietnamese styles.
- Any certification in cooking/culinary is considered as added advantage.
- Flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
